"That video about learning maths with AI." Trawl remembers the pages, YouTube videos, searches and downloads from every browser on your Mac, sorted into videos, pages and searches.
The video you half-watched. The thing you copied last week. The meeting where you said it. Photos by what's in them, documents by what they mean. Type it or say it. Trawl remembers it all, right on your Mac.

Ask in plain words, or press ⌘ D. Trawl lays out your day hour by hour: the videos you watched, the pages you read, what you searched, the files you touched, what you copied and the apps you opened. Calm, grouped, and all of it one click from opening again.
Pages from one site, busy folders and code projects collapse into one line, so a 200-moment day still reads in a glance.

Find a link, a paragraph or a screenshot you copied days ago by what it was about. Press Enter and it's back on your clipboard. Passwords and codes are never kept.

Describe something said in a voice memo, meeting or video. Trawl jumps to that moment and plays it from there.
Press the mic, describe what you're looking for, and stop talking. Your words are understood on your Mac. Built for minds that remember the feeling, not the file name.
"Photos with a pool and palm trees." Trawl looks inside every picture, reads text in screenshots and signs, and counts faces.
searching for the meaning of the mind
Type a line you remember. Trawl listens to your audio and videos, writes down the words, and knows a siren from applause.
PDFs (even scanned ones), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, notes, code and what's inside zip files, matched on meaning, even when the file is called scan_0042.pdf.
The whole disk, by name, in under a second. Mail, Messages and Notes too, once you allow it.
A small AI model built into the app understands what your files, pages, photos and recordings are about. It runs on your Mac, so it works offline and nothing is uploaded.

Every page, video and copy from the last weeks, one sentence away.
Open yesterday afternoon and pick up exactly where you left off.
Press the mic, say what you remember, stop talking. That's the search.
Seeing, reading and listening all happen on your Mac with Apple's built-in recognition. Your files, photos and recordings are never uploaded, never stored on a server, never used to train anything.

Trawl is sold directly, not through the App Store, because the App Store doesn't allow apps to search your whole disk. The first time you open it, macOS asks you to confirm. Here's exactly what to click.
Open Trawl.dmg and drag Trawl into Applications.
Double-click Trawl. macOS says it can't check it for malware. Click Done.
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway, then confirm.
Trawl walks you through Full Disk Access and the keys. Press ⌥ Space any time to search.
When an update comes out, Trawl shows a notice. Download it, drag it into Applications again, and switch Trawl back on under Full Disk Access.
No. Indexing, photo recognition, audio transcription and search all run on your Mac. If you turn on smart ranking, Trawl sends your search plus the names and short tags of your top results (never the files) to rank them by meaning. Your account email and anonymous usage counts also go to our server. Switch it off and Trawl is fully local.
Yes, if you want it to. Trawl reads the history your browsers already keep on your Mac (Safari, Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, Firefox and others) so you can find pages, videos and searches by what they were about. It never uploads it. Turn it off in the Trawl menu under Remember browser history.
Copies that password managers mark as secret are never read, and Trawl skips anything that looks like a password, sign-in code, card number or API key. The rest is kept for 90 days, encrypted with your Mac's keychain, and never sent anywhere. You can switch it off or erase it from the Trawl menu.
No. It only listens after you press the mic, stops when you pause, and turns speech into text on your Mac. No audio is saved or sent.
Search by meaning works best in English. Every language is still found by its words, and speech is transcribed in the languages your Mac supports.
Trawl is sold directly, without Apple's paid notarization. It's the same app either way. Follow the install steps above once and macOS remembers your choice.
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) on macOS 26 or later.
macOS keeps Mail, Messages, Notes and system folders locked away from every app. Full Disk Access lets Trawl search them. Without it, Trawl still searches your own folders.
Your plan starts and your card is charged automatically: $6 for monthly or $49 for yearly. Cancel any time before the 2 days end and you pay nothing. You can cancel inside Trawl, under Account then Billing.
