Why I built Trawl
I lose things I have already seen. A video from last week. A paragraph I copied. A PDF I know is somewhere in Downloads. I remember what it was about, never what it was called.
Spotlight wants the exact name. Browser history wants the exact title. My clipboard only remembers the last thing. Every tool assumes I file things neatly. I do not.
So I built Trawl. You describe the thing the way you remember it, and it finds it: files by what they mean, photos by what is in them, recordings by what was said, pages and videos from every browser, and anything you copied.
The part I use most is the day view. I type "what was I doing tuesday afternoon" and get my afternoon back, hour by hour. It is the closest thing I have found to undo for my own attention.
Everything runs on the Mac. The AI model is inside the app. Nothing I search for or own is uploaded.
If your brain works like mine, I think you will like it. Tell me where it fails. I read every message.
Files, photos, recordings, every browser and your clipboard, searched by meaning on your Mac. Your day, hour by hour. Nothing uploaded.
