Does a Mac have clipboard history?

macOS keeps only the last thing you copied, though macOS 26 added a short clipboard history inside Spotlight. Trawl keeps what you copy for 90 days, encrypted on your Mac, and lets you search it by meaning. Copies marked secret by password managers, codes and keys are never kept.

The built-in way (free)

  1. Edit > Show Clipboard in Finder shows the current copy only.
  2. On macOS 26, check Spotlight for its recent clipboard items.

With Trawl

  1. Search what you copied: "the address I copied for the delivery".
  2. ↵ puts it back on the clipboard, ready to paste.

Questions

Is clipboard history safe?

Trawl skips password manager copies and anything that looks like a password, code, card number or API key, and stores the rest encrypted. It never leaves your Mac.

Describe it. Trawl finds it.

Files, photos, recordings, every browser and your clipboard, searched by meaning on your Mac. Your day, hour by hour. Nothing uploaded.
