How do I find text I copied earlier on my Mac?
Once you copy something new, macOS forgets the old copy. To get it back you need a clipboard history tool. Trawl records your copies and lets you find one by what it meant, even if you only remember roughly what it said or which app it came from.
The built-in way (free)
- If it came from a web page, find the page again in your history.
With Trawl
- Type what the text was about, or press the Clip key to browse copies.
- Each copy shows the app it came from and when.
Describe it. Trawl finds it.
Files, photos, recordings, every browser and your clipboard, searched by meaning on your Mac. Your day, hour by hour. Nothing uploaded.
