Is there a private AI search for my Mac that does not upload my files?

Yes. Trawl runs its AI model, photo recognition and speech transcription on your Mac. Your files, photos, recordings and clipboard never leave it. An optional smart ranking step sends only result names and short tags, and can be switched off.

The built-in way (free)

  1. Spotlight is local but matches words, not meaning.

With Trawl

  1. Works offline after setup.
  2. Turn off smart ranking for 100% local search.
Describe it. Trawl finds it.

Files, photos, recordings, every browser and your clipboard, searched by meaning on your Mac. Your day, hour by hour. Nothing uploaded.
